More than just a countdown to your Wedding Day, your engagement is a very important and special time for planning and discovery. Facebook announcements are a great way to spread the word of your engagement. Check with your local paper to see if they have specific guidelines for announcements. Ask their policies on fees, guidelines, deadlines, and content (such as do they allow colour photos and what is their return policy for photos).
Use formal announcements to announce your engagement to distant friends and relatives. Just be sure to send announcements only to those who will be on your wedding guest list as well. If you have set a wedding date include it, but be sure to make it clear that it is an engagement announcement and not a wedding invitation.

Spend some time exploring each other’s hopes and dreams, plans and goals for your future together. What are your expectations? Will you purchase a home? Will you have children? How many? What are his career goals and what are hers?
Relax and enjoy each other’s company. Indulge yourselves in a late dinner for two, a night at a club, a quiet picnic, a walk in the park. Begin building the beautiful memories that will last throughout your life together.
